Connect Google Search Console
The Google Search Console integration is a direct connection through your own Google Cloud project, so your search data never passes through a third-party server. You create an OAuth client once, paste its Client ID and Client Secret into Ranklance, and click Connect GSC.
1. Create a Google OAuth client
- Open the Google Cloud Console and create a project, or pick an existing one.
- Enable the Google Search Console API for that project.
- Go to APIs & Services → OAuth consent screen. Choose External, fill in the app name and email, and add your own Google account under Test users.
- Go to APIs & Services → Credentials → Create Credentials → OAuth client ID and choose Web application.
- Under Authorized redirect URIs, add this URL, with your own domain:
Ranklance shows the exact URL for your site, with a Copy button, under How do I get these keys?.https://yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=ranklance-settings - Click Create and copy the Client ID and Client secret.
2. Connect in Ranklance
- Go to Ranklance → Settings → Integrations.
- Under Google Search Console, paste the OAuth Client ID and OAuth Client Secret.
- Click Connect GSC and approve access with the Google account you added as a test user.
When it works, the status shows Connected with the last sync time.
Troubleshooting
| You see | Fix |
|---|---|
| Connection failed. Google returned: redirect_uri_mismatch | The redirect URI in Google Cloud must match exactly, including https and www. |
| Access blocked / app not verified | Add the Google account you sign in with under Test users on the OAuth consent screen. |
| Token expired — reconnect required | Click Reconnect. |
